Sinus problem

The worst effect of the sinus is on your nose, hence it is called nasal disease. In Ayurveda, it is known as Pratyashaya. In the winter season, the symptoms of this disease can be congestion in the nose, severe pain in half the head, headache, and a watery nose. And the patient may have pain above or on both sides of the eyelids and mild fever.

Swelling comes on the face along with stress, frustration. The phlegm keeps accumulating in the patient’s nose and throat. The person suffering from this disease starts having problems with smoke and dust. And if not taken care of properly, this sinus itself can later turn into a serious disease like asthma.

What is sinus disease?

The nose is blocked in the sinus, along with the flow of phlegm, etc. in the nose is excessive. According to Indian scientists Sushruta and Charaka, due to non-medication, all kinds of sinus diseases go ahead and turn into ‘evil pratishyaya’ and other diseases also take birth from this. The common belief is that in this disease the bone inside the nose becomes enlarged or oblique due to which there is an obstruction in breathing. Whenever cold air or dust, smoke hits such a patient on that bone, then the person gets upset.

When sinus infection occurs, it causes inflammation of the sinus membrane.

Due to swelling, instead of air, the sinuses get filled with pus or mucus, etc., due to which the sinuses get clogged. Because of this, there is a pain in the upper jaw on the forehead, and on the cheeks.

Perhaps you do not know that there are many types of sinuses-

Acute sinusitis – In this type, the symptoms start suddenly and last for two to four weeks.

Moderately acute sinusitis – In this type, the inflammation of the sinuses lasts for four to twelve weeks.

Chronic sinusitis – in this type the symptoms last for more than twelve weeks.

Recurrent Sinusitis – In this type, the patient has recurring sinusitis problems throughout the year.

Due to sinus

Just as Modern Medical Science has considered two types of sinusitis, chronic and acute. In Ayurveda also Pratishyaya is known as Nav Pratishyaya ‘Acute Sinusitis’ and Pakva Pratishyaya ‘Chronic Sinusitis’.

Actually, there are many hollow holes (cavities) in our head, which help us in breathing and keep the headlight. These holes are called sinuses or airways. When these pores get blocked due to some reason, then the problem of the sinus arises. These pores can get affected due to many reasons and bacterial, fungal, and viral make it serious.

Acute sinusitis lasts two to four weeks, while chronic sinusitis lasts for 12 weeks or more. Know through the following points the most important reasons for the occurrence of sinus problems-

The most common cause of sinusitis is a cold, which causes a constant runny or blocked nose and difficulty in breathing. A cold is a type of infection, which can also catch you through someone else. People who have frequent colds are most prone to sinusitis.

Pollution- Sinus problem can also be caused due to pollution. People living in areas with high pollution can be more vulnerable to this disease. Dust mites, smog, and polluted air can aggravate sinus problems. These harmful particles directly hit our respiratory tract. This gradually causes problems like cold, runny nose and pain, etc.

Allergies- Many people suffer from nasal allergies. This problem gets aggravated as soon as it comes in contact with the polluted air outside. Nasal allergies can also be caused by the weather. Winter pain, voice changes, headache,s, etc. are common, but you should not take them lightly. Sinus knocks with these same symptoms.

Nasal bone enlargement- Due to the increase in the nasal bone, there is also a problem with the sinus. In fact, in childhood or adolescence, due to injury or pressure on the nose, the nasal bone turns to one side, due to which the shape of the nose appears crooked. This bending of the bone affects the nostrils, which can lead to sinus problems. Any number of factors that block the airways can lead to sinus problems.

Asthma – Asthma is a serious respiratory disease that affects the lungs and airways. In asthma, the patient starts having difficulty in breathing. For which he starts needing a spacer. Asthma mostly starts with sinus disease.

Negligence in food-eating can also cause sinus. The uncontrolled amount of food and lack of nutrients affects the digestive system, which can later become the root of sinus problems.

Symptoms of sinus

Sinus headache is common, but there are other symptoms as well. like-

Headache – The most common symptom of the sinus is a headache. There is difficulty in breathing due to the closure or swelling of the air cavities (sinus cavities). You have to work harder to breathe. This breathing process can also cause a headache, as it puts pressure on your head and nerves. And you can feel this pain around the forehead, cheekbones, and nose. Sometimes this pain can reach an unbearable state.

Fever and uneasiness – During sinus, the patient may also have a fever and may also have restlessness or nervousness, or fever may also come. It is not necessary that fever comes during sinus.

Change in voice – Due to the sinus, fluid starts coming out of the nose, which also affects your throat and voice. During this, your voice may be slightly different and heavier than normal.

Through these changes, you can recognize the symptoms of the sinus.

Pain above the eyes – Sinus cavities also occur just above your eyes, where the pain starts due to inflammation or blockage. By this symptom, you can identify the sinus.

Loss of sense of smell – Due to the blockage in the hollow pores, there is an effect on the power of smell. In this condition, the nose gets blocked and the senses are unable to do their work properly due to swelling. Therefore, the normal ability to smell anything is reduced.

Toothache – Sinus infection can also cause pain in your teeth. This is because the fluid that builds up in the sinus cavities puts pressure on the upper teeth near the maxillary sinus (the openings near the nose). If you have a toothache due to sinus.

Fatigue – Physicians believe that if a severe cold is accompanied by headache, sleeplessness, frequent nasal congestion, and feeling tired, then these symptoms are of the sinus.

Cough- Intensifying cough due to fluid in the throat can also be the main symptom of the sinus. The throat and lungs are mostly affected by the sinus.
